Who took part in the project
The EcoInvest greenhouse complex is in Karamurt, Sairam District, Turkestan Region. It began operating in 2020. The regional administration reports an area of 11 hectares, Polish investors and shipments of the vegetables grown there to Russia. 1
Netafim reports that EcoInvest decided to invest in the complex in 2018. The company describes an 11-hectare greenhouse with a nursery for year-round tomato production for Kazakhstan’s market and export to Russia. The connection with Netafim

How the irrigation works
Netafim’s description says drainage water is collected, disinfected and reused. The company also mentions interplanting and supplementary lighting. 3
Solar energy
Power outages disrupted the irrigation systems. GEFF, the EBRD’s Green Economy Financing Facility, reports that EcoInvest installed 940 ground-mounted solar panels purchased with support from Bank CenterCredit. 5
