The first international instrumental performance competition dedicated to Eva, Semyon and Iosif Kogan took place in 2021. Yernazar Gimarat, a student at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, proposed the project. Three concerts featuring pupils of Eva and Iosif Kogan were held in Almaty.

A concert marking Iosif Kogan’s centenary took place in Nur-Sultan. Its programme included the first performance in Kazakhstan of ten caprices for solo violin in Kogan’s edition. Yevgeny Brusilovsky’s sonata dedicated to Iosif Kogan was also performed. The Capricci ensemble played Kogan’s arrangements of Kurmangazy’s küys “Balbyrauyn” and “Kisen ashqan”.

Eva Kogan’s son Yevgeny Bychkov and Iosif Kogan’s daughter Elena Shalkova served on the competition jury. Kogan pupils Svetlana Massover and Dyusen Kaseinov were also among its members. The competition brought together 264 young musicians from nine countries.
