Naum Shafer’s House Museum opened in Pavlodar in 2001, based on his private collection of gramophone records. Shafer was a musicologist, composer and professor. The museum also holds reel-to-reel recordings and audio cassettes.
The Kazakh music section holds recordings by Kulyash Baiseitova, Zhamal Omarova and Roza Baglanova. According to the museum, this section contains around 500 records. The museum dates to 1935 a record of the küys “Kenes” and “Balbyrauyn”, performed by the duo Kalambayev and Mukhitov.
The museum prepared 33 projects using material from its sound archive. These include early recordings by Baiseitova and Omarova, as well as songs setting poems by the Pavlodar poets Pavel Vasilyev and Nutfulla Shakenov.

The story about Naum Shafer now specifies that the museum dates the record to 1935. This date is not presented as an established date of the recordings themselves.
