In February 2024, JDC published an account by 17-year-old Mark Inger from Almaty about his participation in the Active Jewish Teens network and the AJCode project he created. Mark wanted other teenagers to discover programming and build their first website.

He learned about AJT in 2019, when, aged 13, he joined a community trip from Almaty to Karaganda. Later, Mark decided to propose a programme of his own. Before AJCode, he organised “StandUp, But Jewish”, where his peers learned to speak in public with humour.

When the account appeared, Mark was still running AJCode and working as a software engineering intern. He also recalled travelling to the international BBYO gathering in Dallas in 2023, where he met Jewish teenagers from different countries. Mark said that AJT helped him connect his interest in programming with community life.
