The Republican Physics and Mathematics School in Almaty features in the biographies of Arkady Volozh and Ilya Segalovich. They later became co-founders of Yandex, which launched in 1997.
Their school connection preceded their joint business venture and the project’s international recognition. The Kazakhstan period belongs to the future colleagues’ school years, before their names became associated with a major internet company.
In 2014, Volozh moved to Israel.
